High quality supervision is critical to the longevity and success of the field of applied behavior analysis, but the education and training in leadership, management, and supervision is often lacking in behavior analytic programs. This course highlights the issues associated with variability in supervision quality, including the devastating impact supervision can have on the burnout of direct care staff. An evidence-based model is provided for the supervision process, including how Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) practices enhance the quality of supervision provided. Finally, the recently-updated Ethics Code area 4.0 is covered, and the impacts of those code items are discussed.
